It failed to pass broadcast standards.
According to recent reports, MONSTER CHILDThe latest song “CLIK CLAK” is facing a broadcast ban.
The song is one of the double-titled tracks from the group’s first full-length album, DRIP. It was also the album’s pre-release single, and the music video garnered a lot of attention, garnering 10 million views in less than 24 hours.
Reports state that “CLIK CLAK” failed to meet the standards of KBSof the review committee and, therefore, was deemed unsuitable for broadcast. Usually, when a song receives such a rating from KBS, artists have the option to edit or remove parts that go against their regulations and request a rerating.
BABYMONSTER’s song was deemed unsuitable because it contained specific product brand names such as Ferrari and Cartier. Such texts violate Article 46 of the Broadcasting Review Regulation (Limitation of Advertising Effects). Meanwhile, the other tracks of DRIPincluding the second title song of the same name, were all approved for broadcast by the network.
Even if fans are disappointed with KBS’s decision, a violation of Article 46 could lead to harsh consequences for the networks. Recently, SBS faced legal sanctions due to a similar issue.
