On November 1, Kim Min-ju met with Xports News to discuss his new film “Hear Me: Our Summer.” The film captures the refreshing and touching moments of Yong-joon (played by Hong Kyung), who dives headfirst into love, Yeo-reum (Noh Yoon-seo), who learns about sincerity, and Ga-eul ( Kim Min-ju), who is rooting for them.
Since being a member of IZ*ONE, Kim Min-ju has transitioned into acting, and “Hear Me: Our Summer” marks her big screen debut.
Now being an actress, Kim Min-ju maintains a close bond with the other members of IZ*ONE, who are actively pursuing their individual paths. He shared, “On my days off, I spend almost all my time with the members. We support each other a lot, we make up for what we missed and we recharge together.”
He added, “Our time together means a lot to me and gives me strength. We are there to support each other. We are still very close, we encourage each other.
Since IZ*ONE is a large group of 12 people, Kim Min-ju said that the members he meets vary each time. “We’ll send a message in the group chat, asking, ‘Who’s free at this time?’ Some join after their schedules and those who have a busy next day leave early, everyone is in Korea, we try to gather as many as possible.”
He described IZ*ONE as a family, “In a certain sense we talk even more than as a family. They are friends who are rooting for me, so I feel at ease. They are my family and they are the friends I met when I first joined the company. We spent years together, so they are very special.”
Kim Min-ju shared how the group’s natural and relaxed interactions make her feel comfortable and appreciate friendships even more.
“I’m the type who willingly follows. If a member suggests we meet, I usually try to make it happen because I enjoy and appreciate the time we spend together,” he said smiling. “I don’t have many friends, so I really want to stay close to the members and continue seeing them for a long time.
Meanwhile, “Hear Me: Our Summer” will premiere on November 6.
