On the morning of October 27, a memorial service was held for Kim Soo-mi at Hanyang University Hospital in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. Attendees included her husband, Jung Chang-gyu, her son, CEO Jung Myung-ho, daughter-in-law, actress Seo Hyo-rim and granddaughter, along with many colleagues from the entertainment industry who had a close relationship with her.
A Christian ceremony was conducted in honor of the late actress, and among the pallbearers were comedians/TV personalities Jung Joon-ha, Yoon Jung-soo and Jang Dong-min, as well as Moon Tae-joo, the PD of Outlines of Soo-mi. As the coffin was brought in, the sound of sobs filled the air. Jung Joon-ha wiped his eyes with a handkerchief, Yoon Jung-soo had a gloomy expression, and Jang Dong-min couldn’t hold back his tears.
The portrait used for the funeral was the photo of the actress from the 2011 film Late flowering poster, which showed her bright and cheerful smile that reminded everyone of the vibrant personality she had. Her daughter-in-law, Seo Hyo-rim, who always called her “Mom,” shouted, “Mom, I’m sorry, don’t go,” AND “How can you leave after all the difficulties?” shedding tears. Actresses Lee Sook and Kim Na-eun also cried along with her.

Many others, including actress Kim Young-ok, Kang Bu-ja, Yoon Hyun-sook, Hyun Young, Ha Ri-soo, chef Jung Ji-sun and Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Yoo In -chon, paid tribute to the late actress.
Born in 1949, Kim Soo-mi debuted as an actress through the third recruitment opened at MBC in 1970. She was found dead in her home on the morning of the 25th, passing away at the age of 75. The cause of death was reported to be hyperglycemic shock. His resting place was set at the Honor Stone in Yongin Park, Gyeonggi Province.
