A former Big Planet Made Entertainment (BPM) manager has been fired after using idols’ private contacts as collateral to borrow money from 40 different illegal lenders.
On October 16, various K-media outlets reported that SHINee Taemin, Lee Seung Gi, VIVIZ’s SinB, Eunha and Umji, Lee Mujin, Ha Sung Woon and other artists’ private information was leaked to 40 loan sharks.
An official statement released by BPM states that the unnamed manager was caught borrowing “small sums of money” from illegal companies.
However, after refusing to repay, the loan sharks started calling the numbers that the said employee had given them as collateral.

Over 1,200 contacts were leaked, including BPM artists and staff, as well as celebrities and acquaintances they worked with at various entertainment labels.
The first phone call to these private contacts occurred on September 30, resulting in the immediate dismissal of the manager by BPM.
Although they initially kept it quiet, they decided to reveal it to the public after the second phone call on the 16th as the former manager once again failed to refund the money.
However, BPM has attested to fans that they will do their best to address the matter to the best of their ability.
“Illegal lenders are threatening BPM staff via messages, and it is possible they continue to contact others from the former manager’s file,” the agency said. “We intend to take stern action against this by filing reports with the police. We sincerely bow our heads to the harm the former employee has inflicted on everyone.”
The label continued: “Should anyone be contacted in relation to the former manager’s action, we ask that they report it to the police immediately.”
