Min Hee Jin he was reportedly reappointed internal director for a three-year term. Industry sources, included I LOVE ITindicate that ADOR’s board of directors held a special meeting of shareholders on October 17, 2024 (KST), during which it approved his reappointment. His new term will begin on November 2, following the completion of his previous term on November 1. It should be noted that the reconfirmation was the only agenda item discussed during the meeting.
The former CEO said that for NewJeans to thrive, he needs not only the extension of his director term, but also a return to the CEO position. Previously, ADOR’s August board meeting led to his dismissal from the CEO role Ju Young Kim appointed new CEO.
In response to the news, fans and netizens called for more media play from the company. Since Min Hee Jin herself has previously firmly stated that the director position does not guarantee her authority in the production of NewJeans, many believe that HYBE still has control over the girls and their artistic talent. Plans for a full album were revealed by Min Hee Jin, only to find that HYBE’s recent corporate report shows that NewJeans has no new music plans for the remainder of 2024.

Fans called this shelving of plans “sabotage.” Even Min Hee Jin realistically would have no authority or power in the role since she is no longer the producer of NewJeans.
