SM Entertainmentex’s recent post RIIZE member Seunghan sparked outrage.
On October 17, SM Entertainment shared a post regarding Seunghan.
The post shared that they would be taking legal action in response to the defamation and malicious activities against Seunghan. Even though Seunghan is no longer in RIIZE, he is still an SM Entertainment artist, so it was shared on his main account (while a similar one was shared for RIIZE on the group’s account).

Hi, I’m SM Entertainment.
We would like to inform you about the legal actions we are taking in response to defamation and harmful activities against our artist, Seunghan.
Since his debut, we have continuously monitored harmful posts and comments that spread false information, personal attacks, mockery and insults towards Seunghan. We have already filed legal complaints for defamation and other illegal acts, supported by substantial evidence we have gathered.
In particular, we strongly condemn the fabrication and harmful dissemination of false information intended to damage the reputation and dignity of our artist. We would like to remind everyone that such actions are illegal and will not be tolerated.
We will continue to take strong action, without any leniency, against any illegal activities, including defamation and slander, against Seunghan. As soon as these acts are confirmed, we will pursue legal measures and respond actively to prevent further harm.
We sincerely thank all the fans who continue to support Seunghan. We will do our best to protect our artists in the future too.
Thank you.

When the post was shared, netizens were furious that SM Entertainment shared it when they “failed” to do their job not only when Seunghan was on hiatus for the first time, but also after his return.
you were supposed to do your job 5 days ago, not after all this. pic.twitter.com/G7bpjRMjFT

you’re ten months late. no matter how hard he tries now, it will never undo the damage done to his mental health, so fuck off.

all you have to do is bring him back NOW. you should have been able to clear his name within the last 10 months. you could have reported the bullies.

What are you going to do, @SMTOWNGLOBAL? File a lawsuit against yourself? 🙃
All of you. DO. NOT. HE FALLS FOR THIS. It’s a distraction. pic.twitter.com/GuYShDcP3C
