On October 17th, Shipping revealed damning messages related to Choi Dong Suk and Park Ji Yoon’s ongoing divorce. In some messages, the separated couple can be seen arguing about the optics and public opinion of their separation.

  • Choi Dong Suk: Don’t say things like I made it obvious or attacked you on Instagram.
  • Park Ji Yoon: I’m only saying this because your Instagram post went viral and I got people’s comments.
  • Choi Dong Suk: You’ve blathered about us to at least 15 people.
  • Park Ji Yoon: Did those people tell the whole country? Did they post something that went viral?
  • Choi Dong Suk: So don’t say these things.
  • Park Ji Yoon: How is a private conversation the same as a public post? Are you even considering the facts?

In another conversation, the couple argues over allegations of infidelity.

  • Choi Dong Suk: Look! That hoobae is the person who saw you with another man.
  • Park Ji Yoon: I know.
  • Choi Dong Suk: Then he took a photo of you and texted me asking if it was okay.
  • Park Ji Yoon: That’s why I say it’s weird.
  • Choi Dong Suk: I mean, if we’re talking about extremes, from your point of view, it may seem like you’re joking.
  • Park Ji Yoon: I dated him? An employee of a company quit his job, so I drank coffee with him to thank him. Why do you accuse me of dating another man? Also, am I the only one in that photo? Huh? Was I the only woman having fun? Have we been drinking? Was it evening? In this case, your hoobae were assumed without any context. Why then can’t you say to him: Oh, my wife must have been in a business meeting?
  • Choi Dong Suk: That’s why I didn’t tell him anything.
  • Park Ji Yoon: You think I cheated because you didn’t say anything. Huh? Have I ever asked you to protect me? Did I ask you something?
  • Choi Dong Suk: Listen to me. AND…
  • Park Ji Yoon: I mean, you’re telling me what those hoobae thought. The reason you did that was to tell me you were okay with your hoobae.
  • Choi Dong Suk: I’m shocked too.
  • Park Ji Yoon: What are you angry about?
  • Choi Dong Suk: Couldn’t you not go?
  • Park Ji Yoon: Of course I had to go there.

In the messages revealed, the couple continues to argue at the end even using profanity.

  • Park Ji Yoon: No! The reason I cussed is because I have the right to talk about my husband’s shit with my friends and say f*ck, f*ck. But for you this was enough to shatter the family. I said we should get a divorce because you said you couldn’t live with me and you were the one who turned around and got on your knees and begged me not to divorce you.
  • Choi Dong Suk: Do you know why you’re so crazy? You’re saying I’m destroying the family over one little curse. HEY? A little curse?
  • Park Ji Yoon: Isn’t that why you’re divorcing me?
  • Choi Dong Suk: A little curse? Were your curses just gossip? All that swearing?
  • Park Ji Yoon: If you were so faithful and so kind, would I have cursed? You got pissed off every day.
  • Choi Dong Suk: So who did I gossip with?
  • Park Ji Yoon: Who did I reveal this to? I only wrote in a group chat with my friends.

From then on, communication between the couple breaks down and reaches a climax when Choi Dong Suk accuses Park Ji Yoon of soliciting advances from another man.

  • Park Ji Yoon: Did I make you a stay-at-home dad? It is not true. If you are going to make me stay at home, then pay both our children’s tuition and our living expenses.
  • Choi Dong Suk: Nuna! Nuna, you are my ideal type. Please introduce me to someone like you. My heart beats fast. I miss you (said by another man).
  • Park Ji Yoon: Then should I tell him to shut the fuck up and call him a fucking bitch?
  • Choi Dong Suk: I’d rather you tell him to shut up.
  • Park Ji Yoon: That’s why you don’t have good manners towards others.
  • Choi Dong Suk: If the man who was in another city told you he would come to get you, you should have rejected him and told him not to come.
  • Park Ji Yoon: I didn’t know he was hitting on me.
  • Choi Dong Suk: Does that make sense?
  • Park Ji Yoon: Why doesn’t it make sense? It makes no sense to you because you only see relationships with the opposite sex through the lens of sex, suspicion and your fantasies. That’s why everyone hits on me for you. If I drink coffee with a business acquaintance, you think I have a date. Do you think you wouldn’t have been upset if that man hadn’t been in the photo at the grand opening of their business?
  • Park Ji Yoon: Also, if a hoobae I befriended told me he wanted to see me since he was in Jeju-do (where the couple lives), what’s wrong with him coming to pick me up? No, I don’t think there’s anything wrong.
  • Choi Dong Suk: You’re wrong!
  • Park Ji Yoon: No, I think I’m right.

Dispatch later reveals that Park Ji Yoon was actually meeting with a corporate vendor employee on the day Choi Dong Suk claims she cheated.

  • Employee: Hello, Ms. Ji Yoon! There were a lot of problems meeting the deadline, so I couldn’t say goodbye. I still have some things to do in the office so if you have time I would like to say hello. By any chance can you meet us next Wednesday afternoon?
  • Park Ji Yoon: Ah, I think I might be available late afternoon that day. Is it okay if I leave my availability for you later?
  • Employee: Yes, you can tell me later or, if you prefer, we can meet another day.
  • Park Ji Yoon: I see. I don’t think I’ll have to change the date. I will tell you the time only after confirming my schedule.
  • Employee: Yes, lol. I think I’ll be free next Thursday from 3pm to 6pm.
  • Park Ji Yoon: I see. I’ll tell you when I’m available during that time.
  • Employee: Oh, that would be great!

Meanwhile, Choi Dong Suk and Park Ji Yoon have been fighting for months over their divorce. Park Ji Yoon has since sued a woman who she claims was having an affair with her husband. The couple married in 2009.
