NewJeans absent from HYBE Q4 plan + Vague future?

On October 14, Kim Kyu-yeon, a researcher at brokerage firm Mirae Asset Securities, released HYBE’s business analysis, which included HYBE’s artist business plan in the fourth quarter of the year.

According to the released schedule, BTS, under the Big Hit Music sublabel, will release Jin’s solo album and celebrate j-hope’s military discharge in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, TXT will release a mini-album in November and hold six concerts.

SEVENTEEN, an artist under the sub-label Pledis Entertainment, released a mini-album today (October 14). Additionally, Jeonghan’s military enlistment and 21 world tour concerts were added to their schedule. Interestingly, fromis_9 has no plans to release any albums or concerts in the fourth quarter.

Additionally, ENHYPEN, an artist under the Belift Lab sublabel, will release a repackaged album and hold six concerts, while ILLIT will release their second mini-album on October 21st. KOZ Entertainment’s BOYNEXTDOOR has added two concerts to its schedule, while &TEAM has no activities scheduled for the fourth quarter.

Among these announcements, it is particularly noteworthy that NewJeans, who had previously announced a goal to release an album in the second half of the year, have no plans in the fourth quarter plan.

Back in March, NewJeans made a statement about its business plans, saying: “We are doing our best to present fans with superior performances through a new album that we are preparing for the second half of the year, as well as organizing a world tour in 2025.”

However, since April, conflicts between HYBE and former ADOR CEO Min Hee-jin have intensified. In August, former CEO Min Hee-jin was fired and Kim Joo-young was named the new CEO. In September, Min Hee-jin revealed about NewJeans’ business plan, “I was fired while preparing for a surprise fan meeting for Korean fans,” and added, “The production of the next album has also been stopped” casting uncertainty on NewJeans’ future operations.

NewJeans last met fans at a fan meeting at Tokyo Dome in July and is currently on hiatus. The absence of planned activities for the group in HYBE’s fourth quarter plan has left fans wondering about the group’s immediate future and the impact of recent management changes on their planned returns.
