On the November 2 episode of MBC M’s “Weekly Idol”, Multinational girl group KATSEYE appeared as special guests, joined by AMPERS&ONE’s Kamden as guest MC. When host Boom asked Kamden about his familiarity with the group, Kamden initially seemed flustered, admitting, “I don’t know them well.” However, once KATSEYE arrived, he immediately impressed everyone with his fluent English and relaxed demeanor.
The group kicked off their appearance with an impromptu submission contest, ultimately crowning Sophia as the winner after a fight between her, Manon, and Yoonchae. Sophia expressed her excitement, saying: “I wanted to appear on this show because I found it really funny.”
Before the show’s signature casual dance segment, the members jokingly singled out Yoonchae as the one most likely to make mistakes. True to their prediction, the first round failed due to missteps from Yoonchae and Manon. In a time of cultural contrast, Boom observed, “”Usually, Korean teams comfort each other, but here they push and encourage each other.”,” as the members shouted “Focus!” to their teammates. KATSEYE impressively performed not only their own songs but also choreography by Blackpink, Le Sserafim and (G)I-DLE. After another stumble from Manon, Boom jokingly asked: “Is there a buffering problem with Manon on the new album?” Ultimately the group made it to the third round, with Daniela emerging as the MVP.
During the “Questions and answers” segment, the group revealed some of their quirks. They chose Lara as a member known for her occasionally intense physical affection. When asked about the members who incited complaints, Manon initially said there were none, but Kamden revealed that she wrote Megan. Manon sheepishly explained that it was due to Megan’s driving, to which Megan joked, “Get your license first” making everyone laugh.
Sophia emerged as the talker of the group. When asked about Sophia’s talkative nature, her roommate Yoonchae simply stated: “24 hours,” while Lara added, “She doesn’t sleep.” Sophia defended herself by saying: “I feel suffocated if I don’t talk.”
The group also identified Sophia as the loudest member. When she attempted to demonstrate her laugh, her bandmates jokingly disagreed, saying it was her “he laughs like a dog.” This led to a funny segment where the hosts tried to make Sophia laugh, with Boom finally succeeding after multiple attempts.
The show ended with KATSEYE performing a cover of Girls’ Generation “Cabbage”mixed with their own song “Touch”in homage to their role models. Yoonchae took over the role of “professional responder”, and the members concluded with an energetic and over-the-top karaoke session featuring various songs.
