NMIXX Sullyoon’s position in the current generation’s “visual troika” sparked debate, but NSWERs immediately defended the idol.
In the K-pop scene, a “visual troika” is born in every era. This trio featured era-defining female idols who, according to the Korea Herald, are leaders in CF popularity, jobs, amount of publicity and more.
In the second generation there was “YoonA-Suzy-Sulli”, while in the third generation “Irene-Jisoo-Tzuyu” dominated.
For the fourth generation, therefore, “JangKaSull” was founded, consisting of IVE Jang Wonyoung, aespa Karina and NMIXX Sullyoon.
On September 29, netizens, however, raised their eyebrows and questioned whether Sullyoon really deserved his place in the troika.
Other names such as ITZY Yuna, (G)I-DLE Miyeon, and NewJeans Minji were mentioned as idols more suitable for the position, as they are not only images, but their popularity was even more well-known than Sullyoon.
In the Brand Reputation Index ranking, Karina and Wonyoung top the list at No.1 and No.2 respectively. However, member NMIXX ranked 47th, not even in the top 10.

Additionally, some fans are skeptical that her goddess-like beauty is enough to secure a spot, especially after her viral photos sparked discussion about whether she truly has natural beauty or not.

When this criticism reached NSWER, the NMIXX fandom, they came to Sullyoon’s defense, pointing out the true definition of the visual troika.
- “Isn’t that a nickname created by putting together the prettiest idols, not based on their ratings? Sullyoon is cute.”
- “It’s just like a gathering of the prettiest girls of that generation, and at first it was called Jang-Yu-Sull (Wonyoung, Yuna and Sullyoon) but now it’s called JangKaSull. Why is her reputation emerging? She’s only listed by on his face.”
