THEBLACKLABEL’s new girl group MEOVV is making headlines for their debut track “MEOW,” much to the excitement of fans. However, the song ultimately received a harsh review from a music critic in Korea.
According to some sources, IZM began their review by mentioning the song’s short length and its repetitive segments. The website discussed how “boring” some parts in the track’s intro, outro, chorus, and rap were.

Furthermore, the site also criticized the song’s composition, stating that the song only offered “a monotonous rhythm, inaudible lyrics and a one-sided development.” These failing factors are argued to have led to an ambiguous result.
While the review noted that the only positive factor in the song was member Gahyeon’s vocals, it also highlighted the song’s failure to give all members a chance to showcase their strengths. It then concluded by highlighting the song’s tendency to prioritize virality over quality and cohesion.
