BLACKPINK Jennie Confesses She Feels ‘Connected’ To Her Series ‘The Idol’: ‘I’ve Been In That World My Whole Life’

BLACKPINK’s Jennie gave a cover interview to Harper’s Bazaar, where she spoke openly about her debut series “The Idol.” According to the idol-actress, the HBO show had similarities to her personal life.

The fashion magazine unveiled its cover story with Jennie on Wednesday, September 18, giving fans a glimpse into her life. During the interview, the BLACKPINK member opened up about her acting debut through “The Idol.”

In this series, Jennie plays Dyanne, a singer and dancer who is a friend of Lily Rose-Depp’s character, Jocelyn.

“I really identified with Dyanne,” Jennie said. “Wanting to be a super pop star is something I could easily relate to.”

When asked why she liked “The Idol,” the BLACKPINK singer didn’t hesitate to answer.


“I lived in that world my whole life thinking about this evil person coming in and trying to manipulate me,” Jennie confessed.

The Abel Tesfaye-directed melodrama, set to air on HBO in 2023, shows the sordid side of the music industry and the power-hungry people who inhabit it: abusive music executives, terrible producers, and aspiring musicians desperate to make it big.
