‘Hallyu Kings’ Lee Seung Gi & Jung Yong Hwa Go Viral After ECLIPSE’s ‘Sudden Shower’ Duet

CNBLUE’s Lee Seung Gi and Jung Yong Hwa brought back the original vibe of “Hallyu Wave” after performing a surprise duet with ECLIPSE’s “Sudden Shower.”

KBS 2TV’s new regular variety program “Synchro U” premiered on September 16, hosted by an all-star hosting team consisting of Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Juck, SEVENTEEN Hoshi, aespa Karina, and more.

This show aims to identify real singers from AI voices. In its first episode, an impressive lineup of top-notch singers made an appearance, showing off a 99 percent sync rate with their computer-generated covers.

But what really sent viewers into a frenzy was the surprising duet between “Ballad Prince” Lee Seung Gi and second generation leader Jung Yong Hwa, who sang the hit theme song of the 2024 K-drama “Lovely Runner”, “Sudden Shower.”

Originally sung by the current “Asia Prince” Byeon Woo Seok, the singer and actress displayed an emotional and celestial voice as the lead vocalist of the fictional K-pop group ECLIPSE.

But this time, the second-generation singers instead offered a nostalgic and heart-pounding atmosphere, enchanting the audience with their peerless voices, facial expressions, and visuals. Before their faces were revealed, some of the panelists even thought that their original voices were AI voices.

After their unexpected collaboration, the duet performance became a hot topic on social networks and online communities, which praised the two idols.

Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi started the “Hallyu Wave” in Asia with his drama “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho”, while Jung Yong Hwa increased his popularity through the hit drama “Heartstrings”.
