Red Velvet’s return poster sparks AI controversy after fans notice hidden logo

On July 7, SM Entertainment unveiled the official poster for Red Velvet’s comeback program through the group’s social media accounts, officially kicking off the wait for their long-awaited comeback. The poster, featuring a layout resembling blue ceramic tiles, further increased excitement for the “Summer Queens” and their upcoming album.

However, fans soon started pointing out that something about the image seemed unusual. Some argued that the color gradation and texture were different from traditional artworks created by a designer. After taking a closer look, several fans said they noticed an AI logo embedded in the image, sparking a heated discussion online.

According to fans, the AI logo appears inside a shell located in the central image of the second row of the program poster. At first glance it resembles a reflection of light, but upon closer inspection you can see a diamond-shaped logo.

Fan reactions were divided. Those who expressed disappointment commented: “They are finally making a comeback after such a long time, and they should have paid more attention” AND “Using AI is one thing, but leaving behind an obvious AI watermark just seems unwise.”

Others, however, were less concerned. Some have argued, “A lot of music video directors use AI these days, so I don’t see how this is any different,” while others wrote, “If AI can produce results like these, why insist on using a human designer?” AND “Even after knowing this, I still can’t find it. Someone should share the message.”

Meanwhile, Red Velvet will release their new album on August 3rd. Ahead of their comeback, the group plans to unveil a series of promotional content in multiple phases as they officially begin the countdown to their comeback after more than two years.
