On the July 5th episode of JTBC’s Please take care of my refrigeratorAespa’s Karina and Winter appeared as special guests, allowing the chefs and hosts to explore the contents of their fridges.
Viewers were surprised to find an assortment of alcoholic drinks inside, including wine, makgeolli, soju and champagne.
Explaining his drinking habits, Winter said: “I’m actually not very good at drinking, but I like to drink alcohol with meals.”
However, the cast noticed a partially finished bottle of soju in the refrigerator. Embarrassed, Winter joked, “The staff said they would replace it with a new bottle.”
When asked how many days it took her to finish the bottle, she pointed to the amount remaining and revealed: “This is what I drank in one day.” Karina immediately looked concerned and asked her fellow aespa member, “Are you OK?” Chef Choi Hyun Seok jokingly added that what stood out the most was the fact that she had been drinking alone while dining.

At the beginning of the episode, Winter also showed off what she described as her “Grandma’s palate”. After discovering pumpkin leaves in her refrigerator, she shared her favorite traditional Korean foods. “I boil pumpkin leaves and eat them with rice and thick soybean paste. I have the tastes of an old person. I love doenjang, cheonggukjang, ground soybeans and kongguksu. If I wrap the rice with soybean leaves, I can easily finish a whole bowl.” His confession amused everyone in the studio, as it contrasted with his image as a youth idol.
The conversation then turned to snacking. When asked what she usually eats while drinking alone, Winter responded nonchalantly: “Kimchi…” His unexpected response immediately caught everyone’s attention.

Writer Kim Poong reacted in disbelief: “Soju with kimchi? This is the real deal.” Chef Choi Hyun Seok then asked another question that no one expected: “Do you pour your soju into a glass?” Host Kim Sung Joo immediately mocked him, saying: “He’s an idol. Do you really think he’d drink straight from the bottle?”
But Winter surprised the entire studio with his answer. Instead of denying it, he asked: “When you drink alone, don’t you pour it first?” His candid response left the cast momentarily speechless before everyone burst into laughter. The unexpected confession became one of the highlights of the episode, showing fans a refreshingly honest and relatable side of the aespa singer.

Winter’s laid-back attitude toward food and simple stories quickly became a talking point among viewers. From his love for traditional Korean dishes to his admission that soju and kimchi make the perfect pairing, the idol has displayed a personality that starkly contrasts his refined stage image.
His appearance also highlighted the simple chemistry between aespa members and the show’s hosts, giving fans another memorable moment from the variety show.
