U-KISS’s Eli has officially announced his new marriage, drawing attention not only for his fresh start but also for the honest reaction of his ex-wife, Ji Yeon Soo, who recently opened up about love and life after divorce.
Eli shared the news on social media on the 11th, posting photos from the wedding along with a heartfelt message about the final years of his life.
“The last six years have been the hardest and most transformative time of my life,” he wrote, adding that he met a woman who brought him “understanding, happiness and peace.” He continued, “I found the person to spend the rest of my life with,” expressing happiness at the start of a new chapter.
The announcement quickly attracted attention, especially since Eli had previously spoken very differently about the new marriage during the TV show “We Got Divorced 2”, where he appeared alongside Ji Yeon Soo.
According to Pannatic, at the time, he expressed doubts about resuming married life, saying, “We met, we got married, we had a kid and we ended up here. If I had to do it again, I’m not sure I could do it.”
Eli explains why the separation was healthier
On the show, Eli also pointed out that while many people hoped for reconciliation for their children, he believed that separate lives could be healthier if it meant less conflict. Despite previous hesitations, her recent decision shows a clear change as she moves forward with a new partner.
Ji Yeon Soo then addressed the topic of remarriage in a YouTube video posted on the 22nd, speaking in a calm but honest tone.
“I also look for the unicorn of remarriage candidates,” she said, explaining that she doesn’t close the door on love but is very selective, Koreaboo reported. He added: “It’s not that I won’t meet anyone, but I don’t want to meet just anyone.”
He also revealed how his focus has shifted over the years. “After the divorce, I felt strongly that I wanted to live exclusively as ‘Min Su’s mom,’” she shared, referring to her son. She explained that raising her son alone and managing work has made dating difficult, saying she simply doesn’t have the time or energy to do it right now.
Ji Yeon Soo also addressed false rumors about her personal life, firmly denying the claims spread online.
“They say I remarried a dentist five years younger than me and had a daughter. Where is that man? I’ve never even met him,” she said, underscoring the impact of misinformation.
