Hong Kong actress Cecilia Cheung has officially emerged victorious from a years-long legal dispute involving her former manager, Yu Yuxing.
According to Hong Kong media reports, Yu Yuxing had previously claimed that he and Cecilia Cheung had signed an exclusive global management contract for the period between 2011 and 2012. He claimed that he had helped secure numerous film opportunities for the actress and sought more than HK$12.76 million in compensation, claiming that she had not fulfilled her contractual obligations.
However, Cecilia Cheung has consistently denied the allegations. The actress claimed that she never signed a management contract with Yu Yuxing and claimed that the documents presented in court appeared to have been falsified. He also questioned the legitimacy of the alleged contract, pointing out that no witnesses were present during the alleged signing process.

During the trial, Cecilia Cheung testified that she has been active in the entertainment industry since 1998 and has extensive experience managing her career. He emphasized that choosing a manager involves more than financial considerations, highlighting the importance of trust, credibility and professional reputation.
Regarding the film projects cited in the lawsuit, Cecilia Cheung argued that some of the productions mentioned by Yu Yuxing were never actually developed. He further explained that his decisions to accept acting roles have always been based on multiple factors, including the director, the quality of the script, the co-stars and the overall value of the project, rather than on the recommendation of a single individual.

After examining the evidence and hearing testimony from both parties, the court ruled in favor of Cecilia Cheung. The judge ordered the appellant to bear all legal costs related to the case. The ruling marks a significant victory for the actress, ending a legal battle that had drawn public attention for years.
Cecilia Cheung, known for maintaining a relatively private lifestyle in recent years, has rarely spoken publicly about the dispute. The court’s decision is widely seen as a major vindication for the actress after her prolonged legal battle.
