In a viral video, aespa shocked K-pop fans after doing THIS at the 2024 Fact Music Awards.
TMA 2024 was held on September 7 and 8 to honor the brightest K-pop artists who made waves this year. The winners were revealed at the ceremony held in Japan.
Among the nominees, aespa made waves by becoming the first girl group ever to take home the Grand Prize (Daesang) trophy in TMA history since its launch in 2019. In addition to this, the quartet took home two awards: “Artist of the Year” and “Listener’s Choice.”

To express their gratitude to the MY (fandom) and participants who sincerely congratulated the team, the four SM Entertainment artists put on 3 incredible performances, including “Set the Tone” and “Armageddon”.
Although these two hits had already thrilled the audience, what surprised the spectators the most was the encore of “Supernova” by aespa.
Karina, Giselle, Winter and NingNing sang live while performing the choreography in a light-hearted way. But they gained respect when netizens found out that they did not use backtracks and in-ear monitors.

In a crowded venue, these two tools should never be missing to keep track of the audio, check that the singers are still in the right pitch and also to avoid signal gaps in case they forget to sing.
But it seems that the team finds it much easier to sing live rather than lip-synch in some parts, as they still gave a perfect performance even without it.
