PSY’s Summer Swag 2026 is causing a stir before tickets even go on sale

Reportedly on May 30, PSY personally expressed concerns regarding the Gwangju stop of its annual Summer holiday 2026 tours.

The controversy arose after his team announced that the concert would be held at the Gwangju World Cup Stadium. However, it was later revealed that official approval to lease the venue had not yet been granted.

PSY explained that its team had received information from the local event organizer indicating that stadium management had approved the rental request. Based on this agreement, the venue of the concert was announced publicly.

After carrying out further checks, however, the singer discovered that the approval process had not been completed.

“I apologize for the confusion caused by this situation” PSY said, adding that it will work quickly to secure an alternative venue and provide updated information to fans.

The issue gained attention shortly after PSY unveiled its program Summer holiday 2026 tour on May 29th.

The tour will begin in Uijeongbu on June 27 before traveling to multiple cities, including Daegu, Incheon, Wonju, Suwon, Gwangju, Busan and Daejeon.

Soon after the program was announced, Gwangju FC supporters expressed objections to the proposed use of the Gwangju World Cup stadium.

Fans have expressed concern that the large-scale concert could damage the playing surface, potentially affecting the quality of the match and increasing the risk of injury to football players.

Amid growing opposition, stadium authorities ultimately decided not to allow the concert to take place at the venue.

In response, PSY said it respects the concerns raised by local football fans and stressed that efforts are underway to find a suitable replacement venue so that it can still meet fans in Gwangju as planned.

The artist also expressed disappointment with the situation, responding “I’m very sad” when a fan left a supportive comment online.

Born in 1977, PSY remains one of South Korea’s most influential artists.

He achieved worldwide fame with the release of the viral hit Gangnam style in 2012. The song became a worldwide phenomenon and made history on YouTube after passing Child as the most viewed video on the platform at the moment.

Today, PSY continues to attract a wide audience through its annual Summer swag concert series, known for its high-energy performances, elaborate production and distinctive water-soaked festival atmosphere.
