The eyes follows Seo Jin, a photographer who slowly loses her sight due to a hereditary disease, as she begins to investigate the mysterious death of her twin sister. As Seo Jin digs deeper into the truth, she is forced to confront a terrifying reality hidden beneath the surface.
On May 29, the production team unveiled a new set of official images that teased the film’s unpredictable plot and chilling suspenseful atmosphere.
One of the newly released images captures Seo Jin developing photographs inside a darkroom lit by deep red light, emphasizing the film’s eerie visual tone. Despite gradually losing her sight, Seo Jin continues to work as a photographer, expressing her world through the lens of a camera.
Yet another shows Seo Jin wearing dark green pajamas while staring intently at something off-screen, creating an unsettling sense of tension.
The preview images also hint at the complicated relationship between Seo Jin and Hyun Min, a model who works closely with her. Their interactions seem to blur the line between friendship and obsession, adding another layer of psychological intrigue to the story.
Meanwhile, the appearance of Seo Jin’s twin sister Seo In, dressed in white and with a dazzling smile, further increases curiosity about Shin Min Ah’s performance in one character and two roles.
More photos tease the growing mystery as Seo Jin heads to her missing sister’s house with Mi Kyung, the police officer tasked with protecting her. Their cautious expressions suggest that the investigation could soon lead to something much more dangerous than expected.
The suspense further intensifies with the introduction of Do Hyuk, a detective who becomes involved in the case. Although wary of Seo Jin’s growing obsession with uncovering his sister’s death, he ultimately becomes her “eyes” throughout the investigation as they chase the truth together.
One particularly disturbing one still shows Seo Jin with bandages covering her eyes as Do Hyuk visits her, signaling a major turning point in the story. Another image abruptly shifts the mood, showing a terrified Seo Jin standing before an unidentified figure lurking behind her, teasing the shocking truth that awaits her at the center of the mystery.
Known primarily for her romantic dramas and emotional performances, Shin Min Ah now aims to consolidate her status as the new “thriller queen” through The eyes.
The suspense thriller will premiere in South Korea on June 24.
