According to news confirmed on May 12, Choi Ji Woo’s father, the late Choi Woon Yong, died on May 11.
The news sparked even more sympathy as Choi Ji Woo recently shared updates via her social media about traveling to Japan with her mother.
The funeral altar of the deceased was set up in a special room at the funeral hall of Haeundae Paik Hospital in Haeundae-gu, Busan.
Choi Ji Woo was listed among the main mourners along with her mother, older brother, husband and daughter.
The funeral procession is scheduled for 6 am on May 14th. The deceased, who reportedly served in the military during his lifetime, will be buried in Daejeon National Cemetery after passing through Yeongnak Park.
Meanwhile, Choi Ji Woo married her husband, who is nine years younger than her, in 2018 and gave birth to their daughter in May 2020.
Last October, Choi Ji Woo resigned from her role as an MC on the KBS2 variety show The Return of Superman. She also returned to the big screen earlier this year through the film Sugarpremiered in January.
