TXT’s Soobin on School Bullying: “I Hope They Regret It”

On May 4th, a video titled “TXT Soobin and Beomgyu [Zzanbro EP.143] Love me just one more day” was posted on the YouTube channel Zzanbro. Hosts Shin Dong-yup and Jung Ho-chul warmly welcomed the two, joking, “We didn’t expect there would be so many women on staff just because TXT was coming. They even packed some glow sticks.”

The atmosphere naturally transitioned into relaxed conversation over drinks. Beomgyu shared, “I usually drink alone” while Soobin added, “I like highballs, but I can’t drink much even if I wanted to. It’s actually the first time I’ve had a drink at this time.” In response, Shin Dong-yup he joked, “The reason you can drink it comfortably is because you successfully renewed your contract?” drawing laughter.

During the conversation, Soobin made a particularly heartfelt confession about his school days. He recalled, “When I was in high school, word got around that I was an intern, so people would come visit me. I wasn’t exactly bullied, but I felt like I was left out.” He continued, “Because I had to leave school early to train, I had to deal with jealousy. Sometimes, when I tried to leave, they even blocked the door to keep me from leaving.” Despite this, he said calmly, “I would just say ‘Move’ and walk away,” reflecting on the situation with composure. When Shin Dong-yup commented: “Those people must regret it now”, Soobin replied, “I hope they do.”

The conversation also touched on the financial realities of being an idol. The two explained “Payments are settled at the end of each month and received at the end of the following month.” Beomgyu shared, “When I got my first big paycheck, I spent it significantly. Since I love gaming, I invested in something for myself.” Him he added wryly, “For the earnings from my first self-produced song, I sent half of it to my parents and used the rest to maintain my position in games.”

On the other hand, Soobin revealed, “I don’t spend much on games. I always felt bad about using my parents’ money, so as soon as I received the first payment, I sent my mother a few million won for her birthday,” adding a warm and touching note.

From past hurts to present realities and their love for family, both idols’ honest confessions resonated deeply with fans.
