Yumi’s Cells Season 3 ended on a joyful note, with Kim Go Eun and Kim Jae Won’s characters walking down the aisle in a moving ending.
Episodes 7 and 8, released on May 4, marked the final chapter of the series. Yumi (Kim Go Eun) and Soonrok (Kim Jae Won), who had become a couple, finally celebrated their love with a wedding, offering a happy ending.
In the final episodes, Yumi accepted Soonrok’s second confession, officially starting their relationship. Their romance quickly became sweet and affectionate, with Soonrok even changing the way he addressed her from formal “writer” to the more personal one “noona.” From the first day of dating, the couple shared tender moments, even breaking their own rule “no physical affection within 1 km of the publishing house and studio”. When their secret relationship caused trouble during a trip, Soonrok openly confessed their romance to editor Daeyong, played by Jeon Seok Ho, proving that nothing mattered more to him than Yumi.
Soonrok later proposed to Yumi. When she asked him how he could be so sure after such a short time together, he said this if he hadn’t been sure, he would no longer have sought her out to confess. His sincerity, combined with the fact that he had never felt this way before, added emotional depth to the story. Yumi’s realization that every love is different and cannot be measured by past experiences highlighted her growth and left a lasting impression on viewers.
Returning after four years, the series has demonstrated its strong popularity by ranking first in weekly paid subscriber contributions on TVING for three consecutive weeks. According to Nielsen Korea, episode 7, which aired on tvN, also secured first place in its time slot among cable and general programming channels.

The drama also had strong international success. In its second week of release, it ranked first for two consecutive weeks on Rakuten Viki in regions including the United States, Europe, Middle East, and Oceania. It also topped Mongolia’s Inche TV chart for two weeks and ranked third on Disney+ Japan during the same period.
Yumi’s Cells Season 3 follows the story of Yumi, now a successful writer, whose quiet life is shaken by an unexpected encounter that leads her to laugh, cry and fall in love all over again. The series is based on the popular webtoon of the same name and is available in its entirety on TVING, with the final episode also airing on tvN.
