During the April 26 broadcast of SBS variety show My Little Old Boy, actor Cha Tae Hyun appeared as a special MC and talked about Kim Jong Kook’s wedding.
While talking about his longtime friend, Cha Tae Hyun admitted that the wedding still seems hard to believe. He explained with irony that, although he had participated in the ceremony, everything seemed almost staged.
“I just went to the wedding and felt like I was on a set,” he said. “I haven’t even visited their wedding home yet, so I won’t fully believe it until I see it for myself.”
His comment quickly resonated with the panel, as the mothers on the show agreed with him, sharing that they felt the same way. Cha Tae Hyun jokingly responded, “Right? It’s like the whole country is dreaming.”
Kim Jong Kook, who reportedly got married last year to a non-celebrity, has been married for about seven months. However, Cha Tae Hyun pointed out that there hasn’t been a housewarming meeting yet, something that only adds to his skepticism.
“There was no housewarming, so I still can’t believe it,” he joked, before adding that recent rumors suggest the couple are already thinking about having children.
Even so, Cha Tae Hyun ended his speech on a lighthearted note, laughing and saying he’s still not entirely convinced.
Kim Jong Kook previously made headlines in September 2025, when news broke that he had held a private wedding ceremony, keeping details about his bride largely hidden from the public eye.
