Live Nation faces lawsuit from dozens of fans for alleged thermal negligence at Stray Kids concert

Live Nation is facing a new lawsuit from nearly 30 Stray Kids fans who say the concert promoter and others failed to protect them from dangerous heat at a Washington, D.C., show during last year’s heat wave.

The lawsuit was filed in the Superior Court of Washington on March 30, 2026, and names Live Nation Entertainment, the government of the District of Columbia, Events DC, and food services company Levy GP Corporation as defendants.

It stems from a June 23, 2025, Stray Kids concert at Nationals Park, where temperatures approached 100 degrees, and thousands of people gathered for the K‑pop group’s stadium show, according to Ticket news.

The plaintiffs allege that organizers were negligent because they did not provide enough water, shade or cooling resources, even though the event took place during the city’s first major heat wave of the season.

According to the complaint and local officials, at least six concertgoers were taken to the hospital for heat-related illnesses before and after the show. DC Fire and EMS deployed a mass casualty task force to the stadium area as people in security lines and inside the venue began suffering symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Fans reported seeing people fainting and vomiting and said the show was stopped around 10.30pm for safety reasons.

Nationals Park had previously said room cooling, misting fans and extra water were allowed, and that the policy allowed fans to bring water bottles due to high temperatures. Fox5DC reported.

However, the lawsuit alleges that security personnel working at the event forced some attendees to throw water at the gates and that long lines in direct sun made it difficult to reach shade or medical care.

The plaintiffs also accuse the sellers of beverage price gouging, saying bottled water and sports drinks were being sold at inflated prices while supplies were limited.

The plaintiffs, who hail from D.C. and several other states, argue that Live Nation and the other defendants had a duty to protect fans from foreseeable heat hazards and failed to act reasonably.

Their legal team says they are seeking to hold “each responsible party accountable” for what they describe as preventable injuries caused by poor planning and a lack of effective emergency response. At this time, Live Nation and the other defendants have not publicly responded in detail to the lawsuit’s allegations, as per WJLA.
