Former LOONA and Loossemble member Yeojin talked about his first solo single album Lv1saying he wants to show a confident and empowered side of himself that he couldn’t fully express while in a group.
Released March 10, 2026, Lv1 marks Yeojin’s solo debut under her new label, MUMW Entertainment, which she signed to in January 2026. The three-track album includes the title song “Sugar Talk,” along with B-sides “BTW” and “My Valentine.” The pre-released song “My Valentine”, released on February 14 as a Valentine’s Day gift for fans, has surpassed one million views on YouTube.
In an exclusive interview with allkpop, Yeojin reflected on the transition from group activities to solo activity. “Because I was in a group, it seemed difficult to show my unique color,” she said. “But now that I’m promoting solo, I want to show everything I wanted to do and prove everything I can do,” according to Allkpop.
He also talked about the meaning behind the album’s title. According to Yeojin, Lv1 stands for “Level 1,” which represents a new starting point she has chosen for herself. He described the album as capturing the process of redefining his identity through music and mood, rather than remaining in a familiar image, Chosun reported.
Yeojin said the album came about through a close collaboration with MUMW’s CEO. He revealed that “Sugar Talk”, the title track, was a genre he had never attempted before. “The CEO suggested, ‘How about we try something like this? You’ve never done this concept before,'” he recalled. “It was a type of song I had never tried before.”
The three tracks on the album embrace different sounds. “BTW” blends upbeat beats with bright energy, showcasing her vibrant vocal style. “Sugar Talk” is a groove-based minimal pop track built on guitar riffs and a hip-hop beat. “My Valentine” is a city-pop track with a retro and romantic feel, featuring smooth synths and a warm groove.
In handling the pressure as a soloist, Yeojin was sincere. “Compared to being in a group, I now feel pressure to be able to work harder,” he said. “Since I’m now in the spotlight on my own, even though it’s overwhelming, I’m trying to work even harder,” as per incredulous
Yeojin first entered the K-pop industry in January 2017 as the fourth member revealed in LOONA’s pre-debut project “Girl of the Month”. She later became a full member of the 12-member group when LOONA officially debuted in August 2018. After LOONA disbanded, she joined Loossemble in 2023 alongside members HyunJin, ViVi, Go Won and HyeJu.
