According to her agency and legal sources, Nana and her mother will testify at the suspect’s third trial, scheduled for April 21 at the Namyangju branch of the Uijeongbu District Court. The suspect, a man in his 30s, is currently detained on suspicion of robbery causing injury. The court decided that the examination of witnesses will be conducted in private at the request of the victims.
The case dates back to the early hours of November 15 last year, when the suspect allegedly broke into Nana’s house in Guri, Gyeonggi Province, while armed with a weapon.
He reportedly threatened Nana and her mother by demanding money. In a tense confrontation, the two managed to subdue the intruder themselves before calling the police. All three individuals sustained injuries during the struggle.
Following the incident, the suspect filed a counter complaint accusing Nana of attempted murder and aggravated assault. However, authorities concluded that Nana’s actions constituted self-defense and dismissed the charges against her. Nana has since filed a countersuit against the suspect for false accusations, escalating the legal battle.
Although the suspect admitted to trespassing, he continues to deny major charges, including intent to commit robbery and use of a weapon. Investigations revealed that he had targeted the area due to financial difficulties, which is known for its high-end residential properties.
The incident had a lasting impact on Nana. He previously shared that he struggled to return home after the accident, stating that he couldn’t feel comfortable in what should have been his safest space. As the trial continues, public attention remains focused on both the legal outcome and Nana’s recovery from the traumatic experience.
