Recently, a video titled “Where is Cho Jin Woong now and what is he doing?” was released on The Fact’s YouTube channel. In the video, journalist Kang Il Hong shared details about the actor’s current situation. It said that since announcing his retirement, Cho Jin Woong’s whereabouts have remained largely unknown, adding that he is believed to have severed contact with even close acquaintances.
The actor had already caused a stir in December last year after being implicated in allegations relating to previous records in a juvenile detention centre. Reports said he faced criminal trial for charges including vehicle theft and aggravated felonies, and had been sent to juvenile detention. Following the controversy, he announced his retirement from the entertainment industry.
Further allegations also emerged, alleging that, after becoming an adult in 2003, he had assaulted a fellow theater member during a drinking meeting while working as a theater actor, resulting in a fine for assault. These claims intensified the controversy surrounding him.
