The aftermath of BTS large-scale concert in Gwanghwamun Square took an unexpected turn, as online discussions began to drag fellow HYBE group LE SSERAFIM into the spotlight.
After the free concert held in Seoul on March 21, netizens quickly began debating the actual turnout, with some claiming the crowd size was smaller than previous projections. As these conversations spread, comparisons to other HYBE artists soon emerged, particularly LE SSERAFIM’s past performances in Japan.
The girl group had already held concerts at the iconic Tokyo Dome during their “Easy, crazy” tour, performing for two consecutive days. Although the shows were seen as an important milestone that highlighted their popularity in Japan, they were not without controversy.
At the time, some attendees said not all seats at the venue were filled, raising questions about attendance. Recently, clips from those concerts shared by Japanese users resurfaced online, showing sections of empty seats, particularly in the upper tiers.

These videos have since spread across Korean online communities, where some users have used them to speculate that HYBE may have exaggerated data on attendance at multiple events. The situation quickly escalated, with both BTS and LE SSERAFIM becoming targets of criticism and mockery in viral posts.
However, not all reactions have been negative. Some netizens have objected to these claims, arguing that the footage may have been shot during times when the public was leaving or from restricted-viewing sections that were not fully open to the public.
