From “Single’s Inferno” to MBC Lead: Kim Min-seol amazes with new dramatic style

Kim Min-seol currently plays the role of Jin Hong-ju in MBC’s daily drama First Man. Her character is portrayed as an ambitious woman who always manages to get what she wants. Although she usually appears as a highly competent professional, Hong-ju also displays a more awkward and charming side when around her crush Kang Baek-ho, played by Yoon Sun-woo, creating a striking contrast that has won the affection of viewers.

In episode 59, Hong-ju put Chae Hwa-young, played by Oh Hyun-kyung, in an embarrassing situation by presenting a bouquet of flowers disguised as a gift from Kang Nam-bong, played by Jung Chan. The move served as a satisfying moment of revenge for the grievances he had previously endured. In episode 60, Hong-ju also appeared with a noticeable change in style and showed a shy and nervous side in front of Baek-ho. Through stable acting and a wide range of emotions, Kim Min-seol continues to bring the character to life vividly.

On March 12, her agency Chorokbaem Entertainment shared behind-the-scenes photos from First Man episode 60 through its official social media channels, highlighting Hong-ju’s evolving style.

In the photos, Kim Min-seol attracts attention with a more refined and graceful appearance. Even while concentrating on filming, she displays bright smiles and playful expressions, capturing the cheerful and lovable charm of her character Hong-ju.

Until now, Kim Min-seol’s character had often been seen with a tightly tied ponytail and various office-style outfits. As of episode 60, however, she appears with natural straight hair and a pink tweed suit accented with ribbon detailing. Paired with a white bag, the look adds a sense of elegance and luxury. The style reflects Hong-ju’s changing circumstances after she begins living with the family of Chairman Ma, played by Lee Hyo-jung, symbolizing the character’s growing wealth and confidence.

As First Man reaches its midpoint with episode 60, the drama marks the beginning of a new chapter for both the story and Hong-ju. Viewers are increasingly eager to know how Kim Min-seol will continue to develop the role moving forward.
