ITZY’s 6-Year-Old Song “THAT’S A NO NO” Goes Viral After World Tour Performance

During their “TUNNEL VISION” world tour, which began in February, ITZY performed the song “THAT’S A NO NO” for the first time with a full stage performance. Originally released in March 2020, the song was the third track on the album which included ITZY’s hit song “WANNABE”. Known for its addictive Moombahton beat, the track had already been a fan favorite in the group’s fandom.

However, the song has recently gained wider popularity after the powerful stage performance went viral online. True to their reputation as “performance queens,” videos of dance challenges featuring the song quickly spread across social media platforms.

Not only members of ITZY but also other K-pop artists joined the challenge, including TWICE’s Momo and Jihyo, KickFlip’s Kyehoon and Keiju, ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao, and Lee Chaeyeon, the older sister of ITZY’s Chaeryeong. JYP Entertainment Park founder Jin Young has also shown interest in the trend. After sharing the video of Chaeryeong’s challenge on her personal social media account, she wrote: “Why does my body feel so restless?”

ITZY leader Yeji jokingly responded in the comments, asking: “Is something big coming?” while Chaeryeong jokingly added, “Producer, where are you? I’ll be right over.” The song’s popularity was also reflected in its performance on streaming platforms and video charts. A full-cam video of the performance ranked first on YouTube’s daily trending videos chart in Korea on March 8 and surpassed 3.61 million views as of March 13.

Meanwhile, on Korean music platform Melon, the song entered the chart at number 961 on March 2 before sharply rising to number 191 on March 11, showing a clear upward trend. Thanks to the renewed attention, ITZY is even ready to perform the song in music shows, despite it being released years ago.

The group will appear on Mnet “M Countdown” on March 19 to introduce the show and respond to the unexpected surge in popularity.
