BLACKPINK Jennie’s agency takes strong legal action against harmful online posts

BLACKPINK member Jennie Kim’s agency announced that it is pursuing strong legal action against harmful online posts and false rumors that have spread about the idol on social media and online communities.

OA Entertainment, also known as Odd Atelier, released an official statement on March 9, saying that it has recently detected a steady increase in false information, defamatory content and malicious slander against Jennie on various platforms.

The agency said these posts, many of which were based on unfounded speculation, repeatedly damaged the singer’s reputation by spreading unverified claims. It is also underlined that some content goes beyond criticism and clearly aims to damage Jennie’s image and invade her privacy Soompi.

According to the statement, OA Entertainment is now closely monitoring online communities, social media sites and other digital spaces to gather evidence of harmful behavior.

The company said it is exploring “various legal measures,” including civil and criminal proceedings, against individuals who create or disseminate posts that infringe on the artist’s reputation, rights, portrait rights and other intellectual property rights. The agency added that it has already started working with legal experts to prepare formal complaints.

The label has made it clear that it will take a zero-tolerance approach in these cases, stressing that there will be no leniency or settlements with violators, GMA Network reported.

OA Entertainment also urged fans and the public to submit screenshots and links to malicious posts so they can be included as evidence in ongoing and future lawsuits. In its message, the agency thanked fans for their support and promised to continue taking strong measures to protect Jennie from online abuse.

This isn’t the first time Jennie’s agency has moved to address harmful content. In 2024, Odd Atelier issued a similar warning and took legal action against fake publications and posts that spread false claims impersonating Jennie’s father, as well as defamatory, sexual harassment, and malicious slander content.

The latest announcement shows the agency’s continued commitment to drawing a firm line against cyberbullying and misinformation involving the BLACKPINK member, as per allkpop.
