Chinese actress Wang Ou is preparing to welcome her second child with comedian He Jiu Hua, Chinese media Sohu reported on February 12. The actress, once labeled “the most hated woman in Chinese showbiz”, has kept a low profile in recent months, with insiders saying she has been distancing herself from the public eye to hide her pregnancy. Between late 2023 and 2024, Wang Ou secretly gave birth to their first child, a girl. Now, reports suggest that she is pregnant again.
Despite having two children together, Wang Ou and He Jiu Hua have neither publicly confirmed their romantic relationship nor registered their marriage. The couple did not have a wedding ceremony and reportedly maintain a distant image in the entertainment industry, appearing almost as “outsiders” professionally. Sources say Wang Ou hopes to formalize their relationship for the sake of their children, but He Jiu Hua has shown little intention of getting married. In July 2023, while Wang Ou was pregnant with their first child, He Jiu Hua was allegedly caught behaving intimately with another woman inside a car. The alleged betrayal sparked a backlash and fueled further criticism of Wang Ou, but she ultimately chose to forgive him and continue the relationship.
The couple first became romantically linked in June 2022 and soon moved in together. Before her personal controversies overshadowed her career, Wang Ou was recognized as a capable actress with notable performances in dramas such as Nirvana in fire, The disguiseAND The legend of Mulan. However, his reputation took a nosedive following a high-profile scandal in 2016 involving actor Hawick Lau, who was married to superstar Yang Mi at the time. Paparazzi agency Fengxing released footage of Hawick Lau repeatedly entering Wang Ou’s hotel room late at night while they were filming together, triggering widespread accusations of an extramarital affair.

Hawick Lau denied cheating, claiming that the late-night meetings were solely intended to discuss scripts and the production staff supported his explanation. He later stated that in future he would avoid discussing scripts in private at night. However, public opinion remained skeptical and both actors faced strong backlash. In 2018, Yang Mi and Hawick Lau officially divorced, further cementing the negative perceptions surrounding the scandal.
Since then, Wang Ou’s career trajectory has changed dramatically. Once favored by major production teams, it has struggled to regain its former position in the industry. Ironically, years after being accused of interfering in another woman’s marriage, she has now reportedly experienced public embarrassment in her relationship due to her boyfriend’s alleged infidelity. As news of her second pregnancy circulates, netizens remain divided: some offer cautious good wishes for her growing family, while others continue to revisit the controversies that have reshaped her public image.
