On January 25, Cha Joo Young’s agency Ghost Studio released an official statement via social media, explaining that the actress will be unable to attend her scheduled public appearances and some professional activities for the time being. The agency cited health reasons as the cause for the sudden adjustment.
According to the release, Cha Joo Young underwent tests and treatment for recurring episodes of nosebleeds that had persisted for a long period of time. After consulting the doctor, the doctors informed that an ear, nose and throat (ENT) surgery could no longer be postponed. The actress has since completed the procedure and is currently in the recovery and observation phase.
“In the opinion of the medical team, surgery was inevitable,” the agency shared. “During the recovery period, Cha Joo Young will find it difficult to participate in official programs, including promotional activities for his projects. We kindly ask for your understanding.”
Ghost Studio also apologized for any concerns caused by the inevitable schedule changes, noting that the company is fully committed to supporting Cha Joo Young’s recovery. “We will prioritize his health and ensure that he receives sufficient rest and care so that he can return in good condition,” the statement added.
Cha Joo Young made her acting debut in 2016 with the drama Cheese in trap and rose to fame with her role as Choi Hye Jung in the hit Netflix series The Glory in 2022. He will currently appear in the upcoming film Sisterout January 28, where she plays So Jin, a woman kidnapped by her brother for ransom. Furthermore, he is expected to star in the ENA drama from Monday to Tuesday Climaxwhose presentation is scheduled for March.
While his temporary hiatus may impact promotional plans, both fans and industry insiders have expressed support, stressing that his health should come first. With a huge slate of projects already completed, Cha Joo Young is expected to return to the spotlight once she fully recovers.
