This legendary K-Pop idol once worked as an unpaid delivery boy

Veteran K-pop singer Bbaek Ga, a member of the legendary mixed group Koyote, has shared a deeply emotional story from his past involving financial hardship and unpaid work.

On December 19, Bbaek Ga appeared as a guest on Park Myung Soo’s radio show, where he revealed that he once worked as a delivery boy for an entire month, without receiving a single win in payment.

According to Bbaek Ga, the incident occurred at a time when he urgently needed a significant amount of money. In an attempt to make ends meet, he took a delivery job at a restaurant located near a large construction site.

“I worked as a delivery driver for about a month,” he explained. “Every day I kept going because I really needed the money.”

When payday finally arrived at the end of the month, Bbaek Ga visited the restaurant full of hope. However, his anticipation quickly turned to shock.

The restaurant owners informed him that they could not pay his salary, not even a cent. The couple explained that the construction company responsible for the nearby apartment complex had gone bankrupt, leaving them in dire financial straits.

As the owners burst into tears while explaining their situation, Bbaek Ga said he couldn’t hold back his emotions either.

“I stood there crying,” she recalled. “I felt like my whole world had collapsed.”

After working tirelessly for a whole month, he left with nothing.

After leaving the restaurant empty-handed, Bbaek Ga wandered around Myeongdong, where he came across a dance competition being held in front of a newly opened snowboard shop. The prize for first place was a snowboard.

On a whim, he decided to enter and, to his surprise, won first place.

Although it did not replace unpaid wages, Bbaek Ga said the unexpected victory seemed like little consolation after such a devastating experience.

Bbaek Ga made his debut in 2004 at the age of 23 as a member of Koyote, one of South Korea’s longest-running and successful music groups. Beyond music, he has built a diverse career, appearing in dramas and films such as Man to Man and Emergency Act 19, as well as popular variety shows including 2 Days & 1 Night and Amazing Saturday.

His story resonated with listeners, highlighting the reality that even the most famous artists can face serious financial difficulties behind the scenes.

By openly sharing his experience, Bbaek Ga offered a powerful reminder of the perseverance and unpredictability of life, even for the stars.
