SM denies allegations that Kai and Minho skipped the show and ran away by paying

On November 15, SM Entertainment released a formal statement denying the allegations made by the organizers of OVERPASS LIMA in Peru, who claimed that Kai (EXO) and Minho (SHINee) accepted the fee but failed to show up without notice, causing the event to be cancelled.

According to SM, both the company and the artists had completed preparations to participate in two events planned in Peru and Chile. However, as the show dates approached, the organizers suddenly informed SM of cancellations or postponements due to “local issues”. Later, they reversed course, saying that only the event in Peru would go ahead as planned. These sudden changes, SM argues, have created confusion and chaos for everyone involved.

SM expressed regret for the inaccurate statements broadcast on Peruvian television and stressed that the agency will take appropriate measures to protect the reputation and rights of its artists.

The company clarified that the artists did not cancel the appointment at the last minute or flee for a fee, as some reports had suggested. Instead, SM placed blame on local organizers for their lack of clear communication and inconsistent event planning.

SM concluded by reassuring fans and the public that they will continue to strive for professionalism and transparency in all activities abroad.
