LE SSERAFIM shares the nerve-wracking experience of performing in front of the president

On November 5, LE SSERAFIM members Kim Chaewon and Huh Yunjin appeared on Hyoyeon’s YouTube channel “Hyo leveled up.” During the show, Hyoyeon brought up Kim Chaewon’s now-viral “dododok” moment in a funny incident during a concert where she accidentally said “You’re my dododok” instead of “You’re my partner.” The clip quickly became a popular meme online.

Addressing the incident, Kim Chaewon explained, “I didn’t realize I’d made such a big mistake. But when I saw the monitor, I noticed how embarrassing it was. I broke out in a cold sweat.” When Hyoyeon mentioned that many admire her natural sense of humor, Huh Yunjin agreed, adding, “It’s not forced that I was born with that kind of charm.”

The mood changed when the two recalled their recent performance at the launching ceremony of the South Korean Presidential Committee for the Exchange of Popular Cultures. Kim Chaewon admitted, “I was really nervous. The president was sitting right in front of us. We made eye contact while singing and I couldn’t even try to be charming on stage. I was too tense.”

Huh Yunjin chimed in with her experience: “The songs we prepared were the kind that usually involve interaction with fans. But in that situation, we couldn’t exactly pass the microphone to the president, so we just kept the energy between us. Honestly, it was very nerve-wracking.”

Their honest and lighthearted reflection gave fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to perform under the intense spotlight of nationwide events.
