On October 22, Yesung took to social media, writing, “On a quiet afternoon, when the sunlight filters through the cracks in the door, you still feel like you’re wagging your tail in that light.”
In his emotional tribute, Yesung reflected on Melo’s kind nature: “Our Melo, who was the kindest and most beautiful in the world. This house is still filled with your warmth, even without you. I didn’t even know I was sick because I was far away. Yet, you still smiled as brightly as ever.“
He continued, sharing how profoundly Melo has influenced his life: “I received much more love from you than I gave. Your short life has filled my entire life. Your warmth still lingers in the midst of my days.“He added:”Thanks for entering my world. If one day we meet again, I will run to hug you first.“
Yesung also shared a glimpse of his grieving father, noting, “My father spent most of his time with our dogs, and I can’t even imagine how it must feel for a father to lose his pet-like daughter.“
Yesung has long been known for his deep love of animals. He once wrote a self-composed song dedicated to his pets, and, in a 2023 variety show, described his dogs Kkoming AND Apple tree as “like younger sisters” to him and “daughters” to his father. He also said that although his parents did not visit his hospitalized brother, they did Apple tree every day for a week when she was injured.
