On October 12, an acquaintance of Kim Jong-kook posted a photo on social media showing the singer posing casually at a barbecue restaurant in Los Angeles. Wearing a cap and a simple T-shirt, Kim Jong-kook flashed a peace sign at the camera.
According to the acquaintance, this marked Kim Jong-kook’s last stop in Los Angeles, where he had spent the Chuseok holiday. The post included a short caption: “Have a nice trip home!”
A restaurant staff member also shared: “Kim Jong-kook came to visit us before returning to Seoul. We congratulated him on his marriage and wished him happiness with his wife.”
The singer is believed to have boarded a flight to Korea shortly afterwards.
Kim Jong-kook, who married a non-famous woman last month, recently returned from a honeymoon in Paris. He had uploaded a vlog titled “Breakfast training at the hotel…” to his YouTube channel, documenting parts of the trip.
However, during a scene showing the interior of the hotel, viewers noticed the silhouette of a woman reflected in the window, presumably his wife. The woman appeared to have long hair and a slim figure, sparking immediate curiosity and speculation online.
As public interest grew, Kim Jong-kook deleted the entire video without explanation, sparking accusations that he was overly secretive or dismissive of fans’ curiosity.
The sudden cancellation triggered a wave of “Unfavorable reactions” online, with some netizens questioning its transparency. Others, however, defended his decision to keep his private life out of the spotlight, stressing that his wife is not a public figure.
Neither Kim Jong-kook nor his YouTube team have released an official statement regarding the deleted video. For now it appears to be keeping a low profile as it resumes its activities in Korea.
Despite the backlash, many fans continue to congratulate him on his marriage and wish him happiness as he begins this new chapter in his life.
