Before becoming one of Korea’s most sought-after actresses, Go Youn Jung attracted public attention not on the screen, but on the cover of a college magazine.
Now in her sixth year as an actress, Go Youn Jung recently revealed the unexpected story of how her career began, which began when she was just an art student in college.
Having demonstrated talent in drawing since middle school, Go studied fine arts in college, never envisioning himself in the entertainment industry. But everything changed when, at the suggestion of a final year student, he applied to appear in the popular student magazine University tomorrow. Soon after submitting her application, she was contacted and selected as a cover model.
Attention came immediately. “After the issue came out, I heard that agencies started calling my department office,” he recalled. “My contact information wasn’t public, so the calls went through my school. I had never thought about becoming an actress, so I politely declined.”
