The father of singer Kim Jaejoong shared, for the first time, the painful history of his family’s past. Known for having openly expressed his profound love for his parents in various programs, Kim Jaejoong has been moved to tears after hearing difficulties he has never known he had endured.

As he controlled the health of his mother, weakened after several surgical interventions – Kim heard his father confess, “When we got married, I promised that he would never have to lift a finger, but I failed. I feel like a sinner.” Her mother therefore revealed that Jaejoong’s father, a time full of a privileged background, had lost everything after a failed investment. The family suddenly fell into enormous debt, equal to about 100 million krw at the time.
His father recalled the devastating consequences: “I was so shocked that I couldn’t even recognize the people around me. Everyone said I was crazy.” Jaejoong’s mother added, “He has endured so many difficulties, also experiences of pre-making. After that accident, he fell into a spiritual disease. He tried to resist shamanic possession, but started behaving in a strange way, almost as if he had lost his head.”
With the health of his father who deteriorates, the burden of debt and grow nine children fell entirely by Jaejoong’s mother.
