On August 21, Karina di Aespa sat with Harper Bazar Korea on YouTube for a video of questions and answers entitled “Karina’s encyclopedia to become a k-pop icon.” In the Candida session, he opened his most memorable phases, vocal habits and even his growing interest in acting.
When he was asked about the moment when he felt more powerful on stage, Karina confidently chose the Aespa debut phase, saying, “There are two, but the first is our debut. I recently met my family and my father said that watching that performance was emotional. He even asked:” Why is it full of so much ferocity? “When I look back, we were all so full of intensity, and I think it was beautiful.”
His second choice was his solo performance in Tokyo Dome, where he performed “Up” for the first time. “It was the first time that I felt so deeply involved with the dancers and the staff. We worked hard together and became such a precious stage for me”, He reflected.
When he was asked to choose only one, said Karina firmly, “It must be the debut phase, because that day it made me what I am today.”
He also revealed his unusual way of preparing for live performances: “I don’t really know how to heat my voice, so I speak a lot with the members of the staff, letting my thoughts flow. And when I feel nervous or rigid, I always run in all directions. This helps my energy and my blood circulation and I feel more active.”
Karina further opened on her curiosity towards acting. “During the filming of music videos or commercials, I realized that ending up reciting more than expected. When I shot a highly warehouse announcement, I seemed to me my first real acting experience. With so many people who helped me, it was fun and fascinating and made me want to learn to act correctly”, He shared.
With her mixture of charisma, honesty and curiosity, Karina continues to inspire fans not only with her performances, but also with her desire to explore new artistic challenges.
