On August 19, the press conference for the next September film No other choice It was held at the CGV Yongsan i’Park Mall in Seoul. The event brought together the cast and crew of the film, including Park Chan-Wook, Lee Byung-Hun, the son Ye-Jin, the Park Hee-Soon, Lee Sung-Min, Yum Hye -ran and Cha Seung-Won.
The unexpected comic moment took place when Lee Byung-Hun published a short video from the event on its social media. In the clip, Lee jokingly touched director Park on the shoulder, saying “director”, who sent his son Ye-Jin, sitting next to him, in a laugh. Trying to contain himself, Park Chan-Wook covered his mouth before leaving the stage completely, unable to keep it inside.
While the rest of the cast chuckled and looked at the director flee, his son Ye-Jin also completely moved away, protecting himself from contagious laughter. When Lee Byung-Hun pushed her again, she also ran out of the stage, leaving the audience amused and curious to know what had just happened.
In addition to the carefree bufffonate, the cast shared the heartfelt reflections on the film. Lee Byung-Hun commented on his first impression of the script:
“When I read the script for the first time, I wondered if this was really a Park Chan-Wook film: he had so many humorous moments. I tried to interpret the psychological and behavioral changes of a normal man pushed in an extreme situation convincingly, so that the public could enter into empathy.”
His son Ye-Jin, who plays Lee’s wife in the film, added:
“I heard that if I had not participated in this project, I would have regretted it: he has such a powerful story. In the film I play a mother, and since I gave birth to myself, I have been able to feel that my acting was different this time.”
Park Hee-Soon even with a light joke:
“I was a long -standing fan of Director Park. At the beginning I thought, is he giving up in Cannes and instead aiming for 10 million viewers in Korea?” His comment has attracted further laughs from the public.
