Taeil was reported to the police by the victim on June 13, 2024 and was booked shortly after. The police began to investigate and conducted their first call for Toeil on August 28, 2024, shocking the public. Taeil was finally forwarded to the accusation without being detained. It has been reported that among the people involved, Toeil was the only well -known figure.
The Seoul Bangbae Police Station, which at the time guided the investigations, had requested arrest mandates for all three people in June 2024, but the court denied requests, citing that the suspicions had admitted to crime, reducing the need for detention.
As a result of this case, Taeil retired from both NCT and his agency, Smeniorinment. On October 15, 2024, Sm Entertainment declared that his exclusive contract was closed instantly on that day. Taeil made its debut as a member of NCT in 2016 and was active in the sub-units NCT 127 AND NCT U.
