On March 31, Taiwan China Times reported that Kim Soo-Hyun should have appeared on the last day of the Kahsiung Sakura festival. However, the actor did not participate and the local rock band plant extended their performance of over an hour to compensate. The band admitted to feel under pressure but promised to do their best, ensuring that participants still had a pleasant experience.
Although Kim Soo-Hyun skipped the Festival, a pop-up shop for his latest “Queen of Tears” drama, the co-interpretative actress Kim Ji-Won, was still operational at the Kahsiung Dream Mall. Dedicated fans visited the shop, purchased goods and brought support items to cheer on the actor.
Reports revealed that some Hong Kong fans had already booked flights and accommodation for the event, but they expressed disappointment after learning the absence of Kim Soo-Hyun. Despite this, they defended their idol, supporting tears of being innocent and criticizing the media coverage as unfair.
Later that day, Kim Soo-Hyun participated in a press conference at the Stanford Hotel Korea in Seoul, where he emotionally denied the accusations of going out with Kim Sae-Sra while he was a minor. He clarified that their relationship began only after he became an adult, who lasted for about a year.
Kim Soo-Hyun had previously denied the voices of appointments with Kim Sae-S during the airing of the Queen of Tears. At the press conference, he explained, “There was too much at stake”, referring to his concern for his co-protagonists, the production staff and the members of the Agency. He admitted that fear guided his decisions, affirming, “Even if I could go back, I would make the same choice. If you call me coward or selfish, I’ll accept it.”
Kim Soo-Hyun’s emotional response has aroused conflicting reactions, with some fans who support his position while others question the times of his clarifications.
