HyerimA former member of the K-Pop Wonder Girls group revealed that she was recently scammed while trying to buy children’s books online.
The singer and mother of two 32 -year -old children shared her experience on social media Tuesday and warned of the dangers of online fraud. In a long post, Hyerim said that the scam showed several red flags, including being invited to connect with the seller only through the popular Kakaootalk messaging app, having sent external payment connections and has been told to send a commission of 1,000 krw (about $ 0.75 USD) due to alleged non -acting.
“I can’t believe I have been cheated online. I can’t sleep. If you have the energy to scam people, why not use it to work honestly? Don’t live your life in that way!” He wrote in an Instagram story.
Hyerim continued saying that she was scammed while trying to buy children’s books. It is not clear where he made the purchase.
“I was cheated while buying children’s books. Do not take advantage of the feelings of mothers like this,” he added.
Hyerim’s post comes as authority advise About an increase in the prevalence of online scams in South Korea, in particular those who turn to patients and students. Experts note that KakaoTalk based phishing scams are increasing, often capturing the victims by abruptly with urgent messages and apparently legitimate payment processes.
Hyerim’s career With Wonder Girls in 2010 when he joined the group to replace Sunmi, who had taken a break to focus on his studies. During his period with Wonder Girls, Hyerim played multiple roles, including rapper, singer and guitarist. He contributed significantly to the group’s music, participating in the writing and production of different songs, such as those present in their 2015 album Restore And the 2016 single “Why So Lonely”.
Wonder Girls dissolved in 2017 after negotiations for renewing the contract without success with some members. Despite the dissolution of the group, Hyerim remained with Jyp Entertainment until January 2020. He then signed with Rrr Entertainment, an agency founded by his colleague former member of the Wonder Girls Yubin, but decided not to renew his contract in February 2023. In January 2024, Hyerim joined Wave Entertainment.
Hyerim married the Taekwondo Shin Min-Chul athlete in a private ceremony in July 2020 and has since welcomed two children, with the first born in 2022 and the second in December 2023.
