JYP Entertainment’s latest boy group, KickFlip, marks the project’s debut with Seoul Showcase

JYP Entertainment’s latest boy group KickFlip held their debut showcase to commemorate the official release of their first six-track mini album Spin it, kick it!

The showcase was held at Yes24 Live Hall in Seoul on January 20th.

“We have worked so hard for this moment,” leader Kyehoon told reporters during the presentation.

Kyehoon, born in 2004, was selected as the best candidate by JYP during the audition process in 2016, then spent nearly a decade as an intern at the agency.

“All seven of us stuck together and trained hard for this moment,” he continued.

“We will show you how much we have. KickFlip will give it our all. Please look forward to what we will show everyone.”

KickFlip debuted as a seven-piece boy group – consisting of leaders Kyehoon, Amaru, Donghwa, Juwang, Minje, Keiju and Donghyun – with their single “Mama Said,” which has acquired nearly six million views to date.

After JYP established the final lineup of members, the group trained for two years before debuting.

The group cited labelmates Stray Kids as their “role model”.

“We took part in the making of the debut album in the way we could, which we are very grateful for,” said member Donghwa.

“But we will try harder and put our names more in the creative process and share our thoughts and our art with the public, just like Stray Kids.”

After a pop-up shop and their storefront, the group will take part in music performance programs and host fan meet-ups.

“Just as the senior groups wrote the new history through television music programs, we hope to write our own history in various programs and show people how much we have within us,” Amaru said.
