Following the previous announcement of The absence of Girls’ Generation’s TaeyeonSM Entertainment has confirmed that Red Velvet’s Wendy will also not be participating ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Seoul’.
Red Velvet’s Wendy withdraws from SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Seoul
On January 6, SM Entertainment shared the update via the concert’s official ticketing platform Melon ticket.
The notice stated: “Wendy from Red Velvet will not appear at ‘SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Seoul’ due to personal reasons. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this lineup change. For ticket cancellations or refunds due to this update, customers can proceed without any cancellation fees through our customer service center.”
This announcement marks the second major lineup change for the highly anticipated concert, which was already affected by Taeyeon’s previous withdrawal. While the reasons for Wendy’s absence remain private, fans have expressed their understanding and support for the artist, wishing her well during this time.
It had already been announced Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon he would no longer participate in the highly anticipated event SMTOWN LIVE 2025 in Seouldespite being previously listed in the artist lineup.
Fans can still anticipate performances from legendary SM artists like HOT’s Kangta, BoAAND TVXQ, as well as longtime favorites like Super Junior, Girls’ Generation’s Hyoyeon, The Key and SHINee’s Minho, Red VelvetAND EXO’s Suho and Chanyeol.
