ZE:A’s Im Siwan, who is currently receiving high praise for his portrayal of Player 333 in Squid Game 2, he recalled an anecdote with his co-star Choi Seunghyun, aka TOP
In the series, Im played the role of Myung Gi, a once-famous YouTuber who joined the game after being involved in a cryptocurrency scam. He then got into an altercation with Thanos (played by T.O.P.), a retired rapper who turned out to be one of the victims of the coin scam.
On January 9, the actor-idol sat down for an interview with News about the starswhere he told the behind-the-scenes story of filming the hit thriller, including the fight scene with the senior star.
“To get along, we both went to action school. (But) when it comes to shooting action scenes, the moment when the ‘shooting’ begins, is the greatest opportunity for an actor: the moment in which you have to give vent to everything,” Im said.

Due to the two actors’ passion to show a realistic fight scene, they got carried away, leading TOP to fracture a rib.
“Before we knew it, we were both absorbed in the action scene. During the filming of that scene, we were both floating in the air. Slightly. But in the process, (Choi) Seunghyun-hyung’s ribs were fractured. In reality were those of my brother’s fighting spirit through injury.”
The “Take Me Home” singer attested to how painful and sharp the pain can be from even the slightest broken rib. However, the former BIGBANG member did not delay filming and continued to work, making me admire TOP’s professional attitude.
“I know how much it hurts and how sharp the pain is when you break your ribs. It’s to the point where you can’t even breathe properly. At that point, we should have stopped filming,” I said.
“But (TOP) didn’t care about his injury and continued touring. As a former member of BIGBANG, I thought, ‘The celebrity among celebrities,’ someone with that kind of career really stands out in entertainment,” added the actor-idol.
