According to OSEN on January 1, Seohyun recently injured herself while filming a drama. Despite her condition, she still appeared as an MC at the 2024 KBS Drama Awards held at the KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul on December 31.
Along with co-hosts Jang Sung-kyu and Moon Sang-min, Seohyun attended the ceremony which, in light of the recent Jeju Air plane tragedy, was recorded rather than broadcast live. Award winners and ceremony recording will be revealed at a later date.
Seohyun stunned the audience in a long white dress, showing her beauty and professionalism as a host. However, fans were surprised to see her limping or using a white cane in her right hand as she moved from stage to stage.
In the released footage, Seohyun could be seen walking with a noticeable limp and relying on her cane, sparking concern from fans. Despite his discomfort, he completed his hosting duties flawlessly and greeted fans warmly.
A representative for Seohyun confirmed to OSEN: “It is true that she was injured while filming the drama. He is currently undergoing treatment and recovering. He plans to return to the drama set soon.”
Seohyun is currently filming KBS2’s new drama “The First Night With the Duke” together with 2PM’s Ok Taecyeon. It was reported that the injury occurred during the production of this series. The actress is focusing on her recovery and is expected to resume filming soon.
“First Night with the Duke” is a romantic fantasy drama that will air this year. The story follows Cha Seon-chaek (played by Seohyun), a minor background character in a novel, whose life takes a dramatic turn when her body becomes possessed by the spirit of a modern college student. She inadvertently spends a night with the obsessive male protagonist Gyeongseong-gun (played by Ok Taecyeon).
In the drama, Seohyun plays Cha Seon-chaek, a privileged character of wealth and status who dreams of living a simple and carefree life. However, his plans are derailed when the spirit of a college student unexpectedly inhabits his body, leading to unintended chaos in the plot.
